I don't know of any others that were released in the US.

There are a lot of import games that I might try at some point, but that would further delay progress towards the games farther down the list. I'd also need to brush up on Japanese a bit if there aren't translation patches.Zenic Reveriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16441583549326102945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4946916641850178817.post-87050170506212013632012-02-24T09:04:28.847-08:002012-02-24T09:04:28.847-08:00If you like strategy RPG's, you may want to co...If you like strategy RPG's, you may want to consider adding some of the translated Langrisser games to the list. Warsong (U.S. release of Lang 1) did come out here, but it also has probably the most minimal RPG features of the series. The later games have branching storylines, romance option, character quizzes, more equipment options and possibilities, etc. etc. Lang 1 probably doesn't belong on this list (although the PC release, interestingly enough, -is- on CRPG Addict's list).killias2https://www.blogger.com/profile/00398131197947456691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4946916641850178817.post-67593988072019053622012-02-22T22:33:57.505-08:002012-02-22T22:33:57.505-08:00X-COM was released on PS1, although no where I'...X-COM was released on PS1, although no where I've looked considers it an RPG. It only gets recognition as a strategy game. Ogre Battle and Ogre Tactics are definitely in the cards, as well as the Fire Emblem and Baten Kaitos games. Of course, saying this I'm looking ahead and it's not for 100 games before Ogre Battle shows up, and another 300 before Baten Kaitos. Really though, what's 10 - 15 years between friends. :DZenic Reveriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16441583549326102945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4946916641850178817.post-44079660684133896442012-02-22T22:22:27.522-08:002012-02-22T22:22:27.522-08:00Oh man, there are some GREAT boarderline RPGs you ...Oh man, there are some GREAT boarderline RPGs you can use to explore those genres. X-COM never came out on consoles that I know of, but Ogre Tactics 64 is great (Except for $%^*ing chaos frame and how impossible it is to get the good ending) I also love Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, though I never finished it due to difficulty (Perhaps after Baten Kaitos) both have RPG elements, at least enough to fit your blog.

Older are things like Xenogears and such, which should also fit your goals. Some text adventures crossed over: You could look those up and give them a try.Canageekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03770924810559440307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4946916641850178817.post-50163829506455598192012-02-21T08:58:43.492-08:002012-02-21T08:58:43.492-08:00Haha... yeah, maybe if I find a way to retire in t...Haha... yeah, maybe if I find a way to retire in the next five years I'll have some free time to get into all the text adventure games, but I doubt it will happen.

I do plan to include the Tactical or Strategy RPGs once they come up. In fact the first (without looking at the list) will probably be Shining Force. I'm looking forward to that, as I've heard a lot of good things about it. Also, I do intend to indulge a bit by playing games like Dragon Force on the Saturn. It may fit, but it also may not; even so, I have such fond memories, I'm really looking forward to playing through it.Zenic Reveriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16441583549326102945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4946916641850178817.post-60567570050938167962012-02-21T07:56:53.121-08:002012-02-21T07:56:53.121-08:00Well, to be honest, I'm wondering myself the s...Well, to be honest, I'm wondering myself the same thing at the moment, because I started my blog this morning... You're very welcome to let me know what you think of it.

I think you have a great direction for your blog. It's kinda optimistic considering the size of your task, but I'm looking forward to see what you write about the games you'll tackle in the future. I think you can talk about strategy as long as it stays in your mission. Tactics Ogre has the right to be in here. Command and Conquer, though, might not fit in your goals.

And you can always start another blog about text adventures, why not? You're gonna need a LOT of free time though ;)Alfred n the Fettuchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15586336731691674651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4946916641850178817.post-53014788882612894912012-02-21T07:43:16.024-08:002012-02-21T07:43:16.024-08:00While true I'm in control of the blog, I still...While true I'm in control of the blog, I still want to remain true to the mission, which keeping to CRPGs. I may throw in some that fall below my threshold for comparison in order to explore why people might consider them part of the genre, but I'll do my best to keep those to a minimum though.

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. What direction would you take with a blog? I know some genres I'd like to learn more about, mainly strategy games and text adventures, but both seem too large to consider.Zenic Reveriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16441583549326102945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4946916641850178817.post-63843579054077875922012-02-21T01:25:31.559-08:002012-02-21T01:25:31.559-08:00Considering your notation scale, it's pretty c...Considering your notation scale, it's pretty clear to me that Zelda 2 is a RPG. It's not the case of the later ones, though, which is too bad because there superior in almost every way.

And this is your blog, man, if you wanted to play this game, nobody has the right to say otherwise ;)

By the way, great work, it's good to see the CRPG Addict made so many great vocations. I'm looking forward to see the next games you play.

I'm considering starting one myself, but to be honest I'm not sure I'll have the same dedication you people have. I'll think about it some more and keep you posted...

Keep adventuring!Alfred n the Fettuchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15586336731691674651noreply@blogger.com
